The authors adapted the standards of nursing assistance elaborated by North-American nurses. These standards were confirmed with nurses of psychiatric hospital for the study of viability, in practice, of each one of the actions described. The nursing standards can indicate the direction and, at the same time, can be a parameter for the evaluation of the assistance given to the patient.
