In the present study a discussion is intended, based on bibliographical data, of some theoretical aspects of Preventive Behavior in Health, as well as the implications to health professionals. It is our intention to discuss preventive behavior in health from a theoretical point of view, seeking to offer contributions to the professional practical groundwork, particularly that which is coupled with preventive/promotional actions. Seeking to understand that concept, we shall approach along this study a few concerning aspects such as: the conceptual questions, positive, actions, motivating and inhibiting determinants, the components, phases and forms of preventive bahavior manifestations. Finally, it is our purpose to discuss the Preventive Behavior in Health as it interrelates with the practice, such as exercised by health professionals, in effort to go "beyond theorization"
