The present work is about plants which are popularly considered to have medicinal properties, the data presented in the paper were obtained by the authors through the aplication of questionaries to a sample of 60 mothers within a population group of teachers and teachers-aids of rural primary school in the brazilian municipality of Aquiraz in the northeasteam state of Ceará.
