The purpose of this study is to make a critical analysis of the history of Nursing facing the history of women's subjection in the view of patriarchal society, so that one can understand how a"female profession" can be defined and organized. The capitalist exploitation of women's work is also presented, in order to facilitate the understanding of this professional category, with a view to developing an autonomous and qualified practice
