The aim of this study isto estimatethe emotional reactions and synptons told by staff members of scool of nursing of the Universidade de São Paulo, as they received the ventrogluteal application of the dT vaccine. It also intended to verify the population's knowledge about the site of the application and the aproval level showed by them. Doses of 0.5 ml of the vaccine were applied in 38 patients, 10 men and 28 woman. In 50% of the cases, it was necessary to begin again the vaccinal scheme; 13.1% and 2.6 were inoculated with the second and therd doses, respectively. From 38 vacinated, 29 were interviewed. Twenty two of them were favorable to the use of the ventrogluteal side in future injections; 3 would choose both the ventrogluteal and the dorsogluteal sites. One of them still prefers the dorsogluteal region and another, the deltoide site. With regard to the last two persons interviewed, one mentioned she would use the ventrogluteal site again, depending on the applyer and another doesn't have any preference concerning the aplication site, even after this experience.
