Participação da comunidade no 7° dia de doação de sangue na Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

This research shows the social profile from the blood-donors who participated in The Seventh Day Blood Donation at UERJ. Its purpose is the analysis of the factors that made the community make up its mind to donate blood and, from listening to the blood-donors who attempted on the event, judge its publicity. It was used the descriptive method and the social investigation techniques by a questionnaire that contained fourteen questions which seven of them were objectives and the others were subjectives. These were answered by the blood-donors at the same time of the action. The sample that has been analysed has had 129 people. The event took place at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro Campus, in April 24, 1991 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. It has been noticed, as a result, the stronger part of this sample looked like early twenties aged people, male sex, white skin, unmarried, college students and the main cause of this act was the solidarity. It was suggested for the organizers, a higher publicity on the future events in order to increase the community participation.
