The present study deals with the special care needed for the obstetrical propaedeutics performance viewing the prevention of nosocomial infection within matemity units. The main procedures for this purpose focus on handwashing, assessment, inspection, measurement, palpation, and auscultation; vaginal touch is considered to be a high risk infection agent. The procedures carried out are directed towards nosocomial infection, and this study intends to contribute for the practitioners' updating in this field.
