The export growth plays an important role in the economic development and in the reduction of external vulnerability. This work analyzes the behavior the Brazilian exports in 2003 at the micro-regional level. Such an analysis evaluates the internal factors (GDP per capita and transport infrastructure) that influence the growth of the exports. To do so, an exploratory analysis of spatial data is preliminarily implemented. Further, spatial econometric analysis is developed by means of the inclusion of a spatially lagged of the error term. The main finding indicates that economic growth contributes significantly for the microregions´exporting performance.
