Resumos
A preocupação com a qualidade da assistência de enfermagem prestada em hospitais psiquiátricos e a diversificação no ensino de enfermagem psiquiátrica leva-nos à publicação deste estudo. Tentamos, nesta, sintetizar o conhecimento básico necessário para a compreensão do relacionamento terapêutico enfermeira-paciente, como base da assistência de enfermagem psiquiátrica e para o ensino desta.
The reason for the publication of this article is the author's concern with the quality of nursing assistance in psychiatric hospitals and the differences found among nursing schools in the teaching of psychiatric nursing to undergraduate students. She tried synthetize the basic knowledge needed for understanding the therapeutic nurse-patient relationship.
