Abstract:
The objective of this article is to carry out a deconstructive analysis of the case of a Venezuelan migrant sex worker. To this, first, the phenomenon of the feminization of migration is addressed and, within this phenomenon, the functioning of the transnational sex market. Secondly, following the thread of a semi-structured interview and other interactions under the structure of a dialogue, some of the main characteristics of Venezuelan migration are addressed, as well as the logic of the sexual market and the functioning of trafficking and subjection networks based on debt and care. The research is methodologically based on the perspective of the sociology of migration, considering the biographical unit of the migrant in a transnational social field in which structures, agencies, powers, and resistances are articulated.
