Open-access Production of Senses about Integrality in Health Care for Trans People*

Abstract:

The article discusses the production of meanings around integrality in trans-specific health care, based on the experiences of users, doctors, and officials of the Municipal Health Secretariat, linked to a service for trans* people, existing in a capital city in southern Brazil. The results show an understanding of the comprehensiveness that, in addition to the breadth and complexity of the care and the ways of caring, is specified in the relational dimension or of the links between doctors and users, challenging to institute care in health as a space for negotiation, with co-participation and symmetry as its main attributes. The proposed analytical perspective aims to assist in the construction of counter-hegemonic assumptions, from which (re)signify the ways of caring by promoting the exercise of trans-citizenship.
