Gender identity of transgender men in the light of Paul Preciado

Abstract:

This theoretical-reflexive study proposes to explore transmasculinity from Paul B. Preciado’s theory. It is based on the approach of the conceptions of identity that go through this epistemology and its repercussions in the category gender. The development of transmasculine identities passes through dehydentification with the cisheteronormativity for subsequent identification as male subjects, often based on the plastic-protective effects of synthetic hormone consumption, which allow them to externalize their subjectivities and male identities from the modifications of body shape and its social recognition and validation as such.
