Ethe modulation of attack on the volleyball High-level: the case of women´s Superleague 2011-2012

The objective of the article was to analyze how the attack in the women's volleyball is moulded according to the needs that come out from the game context. It was analyzed eighteen games, three from each team that disputed the 2011-2012 Women Superleague, in total were 2501 attack actions. Through the analysis of the data observed that the perfect pass, second time attack, suspensions serves, power attacks and the broken double block were associated most to the point of attack, while the bad passes, third time attack, stopgap serve or lateral basis serve placed attacks, and double or triple blocks were associated to the sustained game, allowing the game continuity. It could be seen that in the high-level women's volleyball, it becomes important to make a game faster and more powerful attacks by means the finest quality of reception.
