Reflections on Biopolitics: Subjectivation, Bare Life and Life Forms

Abstract

The main aim of this article is to explain the meaning of the concepts of biopolitics and biopower in the work of Giorgio Agamben, based on cardinal notions, such as exceptio, subjectivation, bare life and form-of-life. Therefore, strategic theoretical and methodological resources will be mobilized in the legal-political philosophy of this thinker, in order to enable an adequate understanding of their similarities and differences in relation to congeners elements defined by Michel Foucault.
