The construction of learning objects on communicable diseases for community health agents

Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To describe the creation of a learning object about communicable diseases and their identification, monitoring, and prevention for community health agents.

METHOD

The qualitative, exploratory, case study conducted in the North District Management Zone - Baltazar of the Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre, from October to January 2015 2016. The study had 58 participants and consisted of the stages field research, Bardin’s content analysis, and design of the learning object.

RESULTS

The profile of the professionals working in the location was established. These agents identified the most commonly found diseases and stressed their needs in relation to a technological resource. The identified needs were considered to define the content and structure the learning object.

CONCLUSION

The learning object is an alternative method for sharing knowledge on communicable diseases. The tool allows the combination of technology with teaching, which makes the learning process and the work of the community health agents more rewarding and productive.
