Abstract
Global History is usually defined as the analysis of economic, cultural, technological globalization, as well as the processes associated with it, such as the emergence of a planetary consumer society, space exploration, nuclear threat, technological risks, environmental problems, etc. It is evident that, in this sense, Global History is not suitable for the study of pre-modern societies. The phenomena, challenges and threats that occupy those who adopt Global History in the study of societies prior to the 17th century are obviously not the same ones to which the scholars of Globalization are interested. The objective of this article is to discuss the possibilities and limits of Global History for the study of societies prior to the Globalization process.
