Abstract
The article has as its main objective to discuss the relationship between the Imperial Parliament and the central executive from the study of the formation, composition and performance of a leading conservative opposition to the cabinet of his party headed by saquarema Rodrigues Torres, in 1853. “Parliamentary Party”, as this known conservative dissent became known, led by the Pernambuco bench, it revealed the importance of the Chamber of Deputies as a prominent space for defending regional and provincial interests against central government policy.
