Celso Furtado, “Diários intermitentes” and Brazil: the memories of a public intellectual

ABSTRACT

This review covers Celso Furtado’s personal diaries. These diaries cover his life from 17 to 82 years of age, being important to reaffirm not only the author’s ethical coherence, but to clarify the core meaning of his thinking as an intellectual and public man. In this sense, it is a work with the potential to open paths for reinterpretations and new interpretations of furtadian thought.
