Antiga Amazônia Presente: an imagery experience on Amazonian archaeology

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this text is to report the visual developments from the production of the documentary Antiga Amazônia Presente, an audiovisual project to disseminate the cultural past of the Amazonia, which had as its starting point the collection of Amazonian archaeology preserved by the Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia da Universidade de São Paulo. Since the documentary was also supported by the photographic record of field activities during audiovisual production, the resulting imagery material, in video and photography, was articulated in two exhibitions in order to expand the strategies for disseminating knowledge about the ancient cultures of the Amazon.
