ABSTRACT
Celso Furtado is the author, the most involved with the problem of culture in the Latino-American historical-structuralism. He became, thus, an important reference for a possible dialogue among Brazilian political economy of communication and culture and the British cultural studies. This article presents some possibilities in this sense, based on Furtado’s thinking. As an example, it traces some comparisons with Stuart Hall’s perspective.
