EDITORIAL

The April 2013 issue of the IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal (Volume 6 Number 2) is now released. In this issue, the first article discusses cathodic protection methods for both preventing premature corrosion as well as reducing an ongoing corrosion process. The variability analysis of the compressive strength and physical properties of ready mixed concrete along the unloading of the truck mixer is discussed in the next article. Numerical analysis of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with high strength cement-based composite materials is discussed in the third article. The fourth article approaches the influence of environment and loading age on SCC drying creep. The application of the ultrasonic pulse velocity method for internal flaw identification in concrete members is the topic addressed in the fifth article. Another article has the purpose of discussing important aspects of the historical development of mushroom slabs and also presents experimental analysis of tests in mushroom slabs with circular column capitals. The seventh paper deals with the influence of steel fibers on the reinforcement bond of straight steel bars. The last paper has the objective of assessing changes in the compressive strength of concrete when used after exceeding the time limit for mixing and transport specified by standard NBR7212.

We would like to acknowledge the contributions of authors and reviewers, responsible for the nice results achieved by the IBRACON Structures and Materilals Journal.
