Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) study of the fungus Piedraia hortae was performed from material obtained from infected hairs of Amazon indians. The SEM examination revealed ascospores poliedrical, ovoids and spherical of fungus Piedraia hortae, ar-ranjed isolated or in a pseudohyphae pattern, in a densely packed extracelular material.
