Piauiense (Re)existences of black feminists from Piauí in the Renata Costa case

Abstract

This article discusses the performance of the Popular Front of Women Against Femicide in relation to the femicide of Renata Costa, a black woman from Piauí who was a victim of misogynistic violence. The case gained great regional and national repercussion due to the demonstrations carried out by the aforementioned collective. From the methodological point of view, this is a case study carried out through a semi-structured interview with a militant member of the collective who was present at the political act Cadê a Renata? The theory of intersectionality was used as a theoretical concept to critically analyze social reality, enabling us to view oppressions as a "magnifying glass". The results point out that the black feminism resistance has relevance for the visibility and confrontation of the expression of the social issue, femicide, violence that is more present among black women.
