Good living in Brazil: an analysis of national academic production

Abstract

In recent years, the concept of good living has attracted interest in various spaces, including the Brazilian academic environment. Thus, we assume here the objective of systematizing the meanings attributed to the expression good living, using academic publications in Brazilian scientific journals as a database, bearing in mind the original Ecuadorian conception. This is an integrative literature review carried out by searching indexing databases of Brazilian journals (Periódicos Capes, Scielo and Spell). As a result, we noticed the progress in publications on the subject in Brazil in the last four years, with a predominance of adherence to the original conception of the Ecuadorian sumak kawsay. The theme follows two complementary paths: the use of good living based on studies with Brazilian indigenous peoples, validating the original conception; and the use of good living from a critical perspective of modernity, establishing a conceptual dialogue with various themes that are somehow aligned with the decolonial debate.
