Abstract:
The article discusses the relationship between Gyorgy Lukács and Agnes Heller. It is presented as a result of research developed around Agnes Heller’s philosophy, through qualitative research methodology, bibliographic procedures with primary sources and immanent analysis of this material, interpreted in the light of the Marxian dialectical critical perspective. Often, the relationship between Lukács and Heller is reduced to a mere disciplic relationship, so that the latter would be a follower of the former for having been an ever-present contribution in the studies developed by Lukács and the Budapest School. However, it is shown that the theoretical-philosophical choices and the understanding of the historical and political events that took place in the Hungarian social formation gave rise to different interpretations and positions between them, inaugurating important disagreements, evidencing, therefore, the impossibility of referring to a relationship disciple.
