Abstract
The aim is to reflect on the particularities of the extension curricularization process in the Academic Training Units of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. The data analyzed here was extracted from the mappings and activities organized by the ABEPSS South I regional office between 2021 and 2023. This is an urgent issue given the numerous challenges and the need to incorporate university extension into the curricula of Social Work courses in a qualified manner. The results collected indicate its importance within professional training and work; promoting ongoing debates so that we can achieve extension practices that consolidate the tripod of higher education and truly respond to social demands. They also show the need to overcome institutional bureaucratic processes in order to guarantee a concept of extension that is linked to the struggles and resistance instituted by the working class.
