This descriptive study aimed to identify and to analyze present transformations in the municipalization process, according to the perception of nursing auxiliaries working in the basic health network in Marília-SP, Brazil. Data collected by means of semi-structured interviews were organized in two thematic groups: the technological incorporation in the basic network and, particularly, the broadening of access. In spite of the great advances identified by the group of interviewees in relation to the technological incorporation and to the population's greater access to the health system it cannot be affirmed that the workers appropriated the political and ideological project under construction in the municipal district.
