The subjective world of handicapped children is related to two complex factors: the natural confusion involved in their difficulties, and their being subject to otherness. In fact, these issues form the core of their world. Notwithstanding, special education in Mexico is carried out under a multidisciplinary orientation and carries a functional bias which contradicts the psychoanalytic knowledge that has been accumulated in this sector of education. While the multidisciplinary approach hopes to adjust and integrate the children during the cure, the analytic approach is concerned with the emergence of the subject based on each child's own re-creation.
