Analysis of an obsessional neurosis in a child – Translation of an article by Eugénie Sokolnicka (1922)

Resumos

This article aims to present one of the results of the postdoctoral research entitled “From Ferenczi to Sokolnicka: a case of phantasmatic inheritance in psychoanalysis,” which seeks to identify the influence of the Hungarian psychoanalyst in the early stages of French psychoanalysis by recovering the work of his disciple Eugénie Sokolnicka. We present the translation of an unpublished article in Portuguese, in which the author reports the psychoanalytic treatment of a ten-year-old boy suffering from severe obsessive symptoms. This report highlighted the Ferenczian concepts of the development of a sense of reality and the role of the omnipotence of thought, the role of the transient symptoms under analysis, a conception of psychoanalytic pedagogy, and the conduct of the case based on the active technique, used for the first time with a child.

Key words:
