Winnicott's thought, as well as that of his followers, is of great help to handle important issues in the contemporary clinic, specially when dealing with the commonly called "difficult cases" (extreme cases or borderline pathologies). Nevertheless. the current elimination of its metaphoric potential and a transformation based on an immoderate sentimentalization together with the substitution of thinking for dogmas and clichés have "ideologized" Winnicott's theory.
This paper is intended to ponder the t rends followed by a so-called Winnicottian psychoanalysis. In addition to a few texts, some by Winnicott himself, we witt resort to Pierre Fedida 's Crise et Contretransfert.
