Since the time of Freud, anorexia nervosa has puzzled the psychoanalytic clinic. This article aims to show the link between anorexia and addiction, highlighting the style of addictive pleasure as typical of consumer society. The anorexic symptom therefore presents itself as a subjective solution to the malaise of contemporary civilization. Two clinical cases are used to illustrate the diagnostic implications, focusing on the singular position of the Subject in relation to the Other and to pleasure.
