The importance of clinical sessions in teaching-learning practice in psychiatry and psychopathology is analyzed here. This article was written jointly with the resident psychiatric student who presented a case related to a clinical session. Procedures and rules for presenting such cases are described, and illustrated by the presentation of the case itself. Finally, the wealth of details in clinical sessions and the factors brought up in the discussions and debates in psychopathology are discussed, together with diagnoses and proposed lines of therapy.
