This work aims to discuss psychopathologic research form an epistemologic point of veiew as taken by phychoanalysis and psychopathology. In order to do that it is based on the distinction between two work fields: objective reality and psychic or subjective reality. While the former is related to scientific tradition, strongly present in academic work, the later is closely related of those sciences dealing with psychopathology. Based on two works by Freud, “Negation” and “Constructions in analysis”, this work extends this discussion to the field of representation.
