This article discusses the relationships between the individual nature of sexuation and modes of its representations in culture. The approach presented by Foucault in his debate with Magritte is discussed. Foucault refers to the ways and byways taken by representation, discusses its relationships with psychoanalysis, and links them with sexuation. Philosophy, art and psychoanalysis are different praxes but they are all present in the same cultural melting pot. Therefore, the debate on them should be taken seriously.
