XIII Materia Symposium

EDITORIAL

The thirteenth version of the Materia Symposium will take place once again in Argentina, in Santa Fe City, October 21st - 24th, 2014. The submission of abstracts will take place between March 1st. and March 31st, 2014 and the preliminary information about the event is already available in: http://www.unl.edu.ar/materiales2014. Following a recent trend, the Materia Symposium will be held within an International Congress on Metallurgy and Materials, jointly with other events from the same area that are traditionally held in the region. These include the SAN-CONAMET Congress, which combines since 2001 the national Argentinian and Chilean congresses on metallurgy and materials, as well as the XIII Ibero-American Congress on Materials - IBEROMET. This allows to gather efforts and to guaranty more active participation of professionals from this area.

The XIII Materia Symposium will cover the topics of nanostructured materials and the Itinerant School of Materials will approach more specifically nanostructured porous materials. The objective will be to discuss applications on energy generation, as fuel cell components, in the medical area, in photonics, for hydrogen storage, as sensors and biosensors and as catalytic and elecytrocatalytic element.

Schedule your participation and contribution to this stimulating technical-scientific activity in metallurgy and materials.

Sincerely,

Paulo Emílio V. de Miranda
