Abstract
The present work is a floristic-taxonomic survey of Lamiaceae subfam. Nepetoideae for the Paraíba state, Brazil. The study was based on field excursions for the collection of fertile material and the analysis of specimens from the Paraíba and Pernambuco herbaria also consulting Species Link and the Virtual Herbarium of the Flora and Fungi (Reflora). Determinations were based on the specialized literature with critical examination of types and protologues. A key for separation of genera and species was included as well as descriptions, illustrations, comments on taxonomic affinities, geographical distribution data, environments, flowering and or fruiting of the species. Sixteen species grouped into nine genera are here recognized. Hyptis ramosa is a new record for the flora of the Paraíba state.
