Abstract
This study presents the flora of Ruppiaceae in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The work is based on morphological analysis of specimens deposited in herbarium collections and field work, besides literature compilation. One species was recorded: Ruppia maritima. Descriptions, illustrations, data on habitat, and geographic distribution are provided.
