Abstract
Pffafia brunae is a new species of the Brazilian flora. The species is included in the section Pfaffia, which has the largest number of species in the Brazilian teritorry. Pfaffia brunae is close to Pfaffia hirtula, differing by its larger lanceolate to oblanceolate leaves, decurrent leaf base and oblong hyaline bracts. The species was recognized during the revison of the genus Pfaffia in Brazil. Description, ilustrations, observation about the habitat and geographical distribution of the new species are presented.
