Croton L. (Euphorbiaceae) in Serra Dourada State Park, Goiás, Brazil

Serra Dourada State Park is one of the most preserved montane areas in the state of Goiás, but the flora is poorly known. As part of a survey of Euphorbiaceae diversity in Cerrado, a taxonomic study of the genus Croton was carried out in this park. We recognized 10 species: Croton antisyphiliticus, C. campestris, C. chaetocalyx, C. didrichsenii, C. glandulosus, C. gracilescens, C. heliotropiifolius, C. sclerocalyx, C. urucurana and Croton sp. The last species is probably a new taxon, while C. gracilescens and C. sclerocalyx are illustrated for the first time. A species key, descriptions, illustrations, as well as phenological and geographic distribution data are provided.
