Abstract
This study deals with the Smilacaceae family registered for the canga of the Serra dos Carajás, Pará state and provides detailed descriptions, illustrations, and morphological comments of the species in the study area. Two species were recorded: Smilax irrorata and Smilax syphilitica, both found throughout South America.
