Abstract
Thirteen species of Rubiaceae native from the cerrado {sensu lato) vegetation of the Distrito Federal, Brazil, are presented in view of their possible use as ornamentals. For each species a brief description, flowering and fruiting time, as well as propagation means, are provided. The distribution of each species within the Distrito Federal area is also presented. The species dealt with in the text are: Alibertia edulis, Alibertia macrophylla, Augusta longifolia, Coussarea hydrangeifolia, Coutarea hexandra, Ferdinandusa speciosa, Genipa americana, Ixora warmingii, Palicourea rígida, Posoqueria latifolia, Psychotria colorata. Rustia formosa, Tocoyena formosa.
