ABSTRACT
An anatomical study of vegetative axis on two species from family Melastomataceae, Miconia tristis Spring and Miconia doriana Cogn. occur in Macaé de Cima Ecological Reserve, Rio de Janeiro. These species stand out for to such a degree or extent of similar intern and external morphology, dorsiventral organization the your blades, hypostomatic , vascular bundles in U and stellate trichomes. The results obtained showed the species are adapeted mesophytics environment and the difference betwen the species Miconia tristis is found basal position of the middle vein, lanceolate leaf blade while Miconia doriana present oval leaf blade, pocket domatia, and others characteristics.
