Oral health on the public agenda in municipal health council of the city of Nova Friburgo - RJ

Objective

The present study analyzes through the technical documents of the Municipal Health Council (MHC), the organization of oral health in the city of Nova Friburgo - RJ, from the institutionalization of the National Oral Health (NOH).

Methodology

For the document analysis was used to record the frequency and categorization: oral health of the minutes of MHS the 06/2006 to 08/2011, the Municipal Health Plan for 2003-2005 and 2010-2013 and the documents and sent to MHC from 2005 to 2011.

Result

The records analyzed by 2012 indicated that the population was unattended on the issue of medium complexity, as well as in access to fluoridated water. The oral health teams were not yet qualified and expanded as is well placed as a priority in NOH. The municipality has not developed programs of prevention and oral health promotion continuously and effectively.

Conclusion

It was concluded that the National Oral Health Policy on, at the present time (2012) has not yet reflected in the actions of oral health in Nova Friburgo.
