Abstract: Since the beginning of 21st century, mediatization together with globalization generated a context where technological change amplifies and transforms the social interactions of religious phenomena in the mediated and mediatized public space. We observe that the phenomena of religiosity have not lost prominence in Argentine society, and that the centrality of the Catholic Church as an institutional actor has increased. Furthermore, despite processes of pluralization in the religious field, its visibility is greater in the written press. How are these mediatizations of phenomena of religiosity structured? What events are transformed into news about religion? We will try to address some possible answers when inquiring into the media Página/12 y pagina12.com, La Nación y lanacion.com, Clarín y clarin.com from a socio-semiotic perspective of qualitative analysis.
