Abstract: This article deals with the forms of engagement and alliances promoted by the Metropolitan Community Church of Rio de Janeiro (MCC-Rio). For this, we tried to observe their performance following the rubric of sexual and health policies linked to the language of sexual diversity, especially in the fight against HIV/Aids. The temporal cut of the work, between the years 2018 and 2019, collected ethnographic data from the services and other events of the religious institution, in addition to semi-structured interviews. These mobilizations show the religious path that, guided by secular values, by sexual and reproductive rights, seeks to value the LGBTQIA+ population and visibility in the religious scenario.
