Covid-19, Islam Communities, Islamophobia

Abstract: The Sars-CoV2 affected all social groups in different ways, depending on class, race and gender. Religious institutions also had to adapt to the chaotic situation. This article outlines the way in which the Muslim community reconfigured its devotional practices during the month of Ramadan using more systematically social networks to keep the faithful at home and how this is being done today with the opening of mosques and spaces for pray (mussalas). The article also highlights that even following the protocols, Muslims were not immune to facing the disease, as well as, old problems experienced outside and inside Brazil that involve Islamophobic reactions, when it comes to the clothing worn by women.
