Seicho-No-Ie, Deep ecology and the particularities of nippon globalization: food from the perspective of environmental religious ethics

Summary: The main objective of this article is to establish a relationship between Seicho-No-Ie, Deep Ecology and food. The hypothesis revolves around the following premise: the relationship between these three elements involves a discussion centered on environmental religious ethics, which is concerned with the well-being of the environment as a whole. Based on this ethic, Masanobu Taniguchi, current top leadership of Seicho-No-Ie, seeks to rescue traditional elements of Japanese culture - via Deep Ecology - to bring to light the importance of thinking about changes in food habits in the globalized world. As a method of approach, we chose the Bibliographic Research suggested by Lakatos and Marconi (2003) and the Religious Discourse Analysis proposed by Orlandi (1987).
