Abstract: Religious groups have participated in important judgments for Brazilian society in the last 20 years. This paper aims to highlight the involvement of the National Conference of Brazilian Bishops (CNBB) and the National Association of Evangelical Jurists (ANAJURE) as amicus curiae in the Supreme Court. An exploratory approach based on 29 cases revealed that the CNBB was initially present in the court without having to compete with other religious agents. However, since its creation, ANAJURE engages with this same strategy. In the context of democratic participation, they discussed: education, health, homophobia, slave labor, indigenous and quilombolas territories. Based on those elements, the presence of the CNBB and the ANAJURE, in the constitutional interpretation sphere, is discussed in this article.
