This article brings some new elements to the discussion of the transformation of Brazilian evangelical context. For this, the text phocus on black music gospel / "música negra". This kind of music is supported by contemporary musicalities as hip-hop and reggae musical styles and is produced by independent groups. These groups are constituted by religious individuals, who are not connected to specialized musical enterprises. They present goods and services that are in a dialogical link with religious notions, particularly those related to afrodescendants religious adepts. Their practices and conceptions define a specific kind of participation and belonging. This perspective of study has as theoretical resources notions like "blackness", "Black Atlantic" and "diaspora".
