Patricia Birman: an exemplary career in academia and public university

Abstract: In this article I seek to recover part of the trajectory of anthropologist Patricia Birman, highlighting her analytical journey from the field of Anthropology of Religion to that of Urban Anthropology, motivated by her ethical-political commitment to the issues present in the Brazilian public space and the precariousness experienced by populations on the "margins".
